ABOUT

Dr. Flaten was born and raised in Colorado. She received her undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College in Maine. Subsequently, she attended medical school at University of Colorado where she was top of her class and served as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She then completed a rigorous dermatology residency at University of Colorado where she treated a wide variety of skin diseases in diverse patient populations at Denver Health Medical Center, Rocky Mountain Regional Veterans Affairs, Children’s Hospital of Colorado, and University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Flaten has published numerous articles in medical journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD).

Dr. Flaten has experience treating patients of all skin types and all ages, including children. Her professional interests include complex medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and skin cancer surveillance.

Outside of work, Dr. Flaten channels her adventurous spirit as a whitewater kayaker, mountain biker, and parent to two young boys.
